NGK IX Iridium Spark Plug Set NGK 5464

A good copper spark plug is hard to beat--while it's new. Featuring low resistance, these plugs deliver a great spark at a very reasonable cost. The problem is, with high power racing ignitions available today, they can wipe out a copper spark plug pretty quickly. Platinum plugs add longevity, but they are expensive and the higher resistance of platinum over copper has a dramatic reduction on the power of the spark produced.

That's why we run nothing but iridium. The NGK IX Iridium spark plugs generate the spark of a copper plug with the durability of a platinum. Iridium is six times harder and eight times stronger than platinum, making it even superior in durability. Because of this, NGK Iridium IX spark plugs feature a very fine center conductor. This further improves the spark by concentrating the energy and heat in a tighter core.

These NGK IX Iridiums come pre-gapped for your 1.8 liter Miata engine. It is important that you do not try to set the gap yourself. Because of the fine wire (.7mm) center electrode on these plugs, they can be broken during the gapping process. No warranty is available for broken center electrodes.
