Fuel Safe Enduro-Style Fuel Cell, 8 Gallon FSA ED108

This Fuel Safe fuel cell is perfect for the Miata. It's eight-gallon size ensures that we're not carrying around any more weight than we need, and it's FIA-FT3 certified! You can see from the pictures what a perfect fit it was. You can see from the pictures that Wayne went overboard designing the installation on this one. It make me want to see it driven around with the trunk lid open! Check out these other features:

  • Powder coated 20 gauge steel container
  • Full safety foam baffling
  • SF6x10E fill plate with fuel sender provision
  • Aircraft grade nut ring
  • Gasket
  • Fuel pickup assembly
  • Safety rollover vent valve
  • 2 year warranty

The dimensions of the main body of the ED108 Cell (not including the flange) are as follows. The mounting flange hangs out one inch over all four sides of the top.

  • Length: 20.75"

Q&A:

I'm thinking about converting my ITA Miata. Do I need to use a fuel cell? (2009 GCR seems to suggest not.) I'm aware of the performance advantages, but I tend just to jump in.

This isn't something that we studied closely since we wouldn't consider racing in production with a stock fuel tank. Too scary! However, I just asked Wayne and he said he _thinks_ that the GCR says that you can run a stock fuel cell as long as it is inside the body and is plastic. If that is true then that's not going to work because all of the Miata's have a metal fuel cell as far as I know.

If you do go with a stock fuel tank then we do have 255 LPH fuel pumps that fit the stock Miata fuel tank available at http://www.fuel-pumps.net.
