These 2" by 50-foot rolls of Thermo-Tec Exhaust Wrap have saved our drivers rear-end time after time (not to mention the rest of him.) You're sitting in a tin can right on top of a hot pipe that is pretty much continuously in the 500° - 700° range. Without any kind of insulatino, that heat goea right into the driver's compartment.
Being that we race primarily in the Southeast, we don't need any help getting hot. What Thermo-Tec provides is a whole host of ways to keep heat where it needs to be--away from the driver, so he can concentrate on the busienss at hand. We wrap our entire exhaust pipe from the header to behind the driver's compartment with this, Fasten it with ThermoTec's 13150 Snap-Strap, and then seal it with ThermoTec's 12001 High-Heat Coating. Problem solved.
